SCSU Tom Godek Named Assistant Coach of the Year By Gridiron Club of Greater Boston

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Tom Godek, offensive coordinator for the Southern Connecticut State University football team, has been named the 2010 Division II/III Assistant Coach of the Year by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston. Godek, who recently completed his 10th season with the Owls, helped the team break numerous records during the fall campaign. He will be honored on January 13, 2011 at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, Mass.

The Owls broke 10 records during the course of the 2010 season on the offensive side of the ball, including new a team mark for longest pass play (done on two separate occasions) and individual marks for most passing yards in a game, most completions in a game and most receiving yards in a game. In all, SCSU has either matched current or posted new school offensive records on more than 40 occasions during Godek’s tenure.

The Southern Connecticut State University football team concluded the 2010 season with a 6-4 overall mark and posted its 10th straight winning season.
