NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A total of 153 student-athletes from Southern Connecticut State University have been named to the Spring, 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. In order to be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded a minimum 3.0 semester grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the Spring, 2010 semester. This semester’s mark is the highest-figure in department history.
The Owls’ previous high of 148 student-athletes was set back during the fall, 2009 semester.
In total, 2,704 student-athletes representing each of the conference’s 16 member institutions are included on this semester’s list.
With 16 member institutions the Northeast-10 shares the distinction of being the largest Division II conference in the country along with the PSAC and WVIAC. Its 23 championship sports provide athletic opportunities for over 5,500 student-athletes, the largest such program of any Division II conference.
